Squirrel ~ Gathering (contrary)

Contrary Squirrel tells me that, pehaps, you got going on your project yesterday and became overwhelmed with worry. Did you become obsessed with how much your dream would cost? Did you get sidetracked planning out all the tiny details and lose sight of the big picture? Did you become overwhelmed with fear of what might happen in the future? Did you become afraid that you wouldn't be able to find a job doing what you want to do or that you would begin a business that would have no customers? Did you feel like you were like the Wiley Coyote - strapped onto a rocket you couldn't stop or control? I want you to stop right now and take a deep breath, hold it for a moment, and then let it out s-l-o-w-l-y. Repeat after me: It will all be okay. It will all be okay. Any time we begin to take on a new venture it can quickly become frightening and overwhelming. And that is okay. Grounding will help, so get out in nature for a while today and walk off your fear and worry. Go back and re-read your goals. Take a moment to vvisualize your future, seeing yourself as happy and successful in your dream venture. Feel how it will feel to have that success. Imagine what your life will be like when you finally reach your goal. It may help to create a "dream board" or collage with words and images that inspire you to continue working toward your dreams. Whatever you do, don't give up!

The contrary medicine of Squirrel is a hoarder - a fearful person who expects the worst and is stuck waiting. Waiting for something to happen is a trap. No action equals stagnation, but a little of Squirrel's erratic energy might get things moving. If Squirrel is hanging upside-down on your branch, you may have begun seeing the world through opposites, hoarding your thoughts of abundance so that fear of scarcity takes hold. You may have asked yourself:

1 - Have I denied my ability to produce enough space for abundance to enter my life?
2 - Have I denied my connection to the Earth Mother, from whom all things flow?
3 - In moving too fast, have I taken on the erratic nature of Squirrel without having any focus?
4 - Am I leaking my energy on worry instead of gathering power through being prepared?
