Lynx ~ Secrets (contrary)

Today we are joined by contrary Armadillo and contrary Lynx, who warn that now may be a time to keep quiet instead of allowing your mouth to run amok. Armadillo says that the tendency to gossip about others may stem from a fear of rejection or a "get them before they get me" attitude. He says that this behavior will only lead to hurt feelings. If this pertains to a work situation, he says you're farther ahead to find another job than to continue feeding the rumor mill in order to get back at someone. And if this is a friendship - then you're not being much of a friend, are you? Lynx says that this may also pertain to discussing your dreams and goals with other people. She advises caution in this situation as your dreams and goals are still fragile things and harsh words received from someone you've trusted with this confidence could be a major set back right now. Whatever the situation, the advice is the same. Stop talking and start listening. Be worthy of trust and be careful who you give your trust to right now.

If Lynx appears in the contrary position, it is time to shut your big mouth. Something you are jabbering about has let the "cat" out of the bag. Are you defiling a sacred trust or have you broken a promise to a friend? If not, you may have pulled a good prank on yourself by babbling your latest idea to a friend of a competitor. Watch your tongue and see if you are able to refrain from gossiping or talking about your latest romantic conquest. Look and see if, in your present state, you are able to listen to and truly be interested in someone else's stories or ideas. On this level, Lynx is telling you to become worthy of trust. Then the secrets will be available to you.
You might try choosing to have your brain in gear before your babble starts or your foot may replace your tongue. This is the "know it all" syndrome. Fine - if you want to talk, just sew up your ears. After all, talking leaves no room for hearing or learning. Lynx is a tough teacher and if you have let the cat out of the bag be ready for consequences.
